Texas Litter Control is a Texas Non-Profit Corp and 501c3 public charity that exists to lower the number of animals entering our local shelters.
Our high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic is seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to help us provide affordable, high-quality care to dogs and cats in our community. Whether you’re interested in hands-on animal care, client services, or supporting our surgical team, there’s a meaningful role for you.
Volunteers play a vital part in helping us reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare. No prior veterinary experience is required for most positions — We provide training!
The resale shop is open 7 days a week. Proceeds from the sale of donations go to fund life-saving programs including HelpMeKeepMyPet.com, Disaster Victims with Pets, Pet Food Pantry, TLCEducationStation.org and more!
TLC accepts intern applications twice per year. Internship space is limited. You must apply on our Careers Page. If no internship opportunities are listed, we are not accepting applications for the program.
Greet clients, complete intake paperwork, verify patient information, and helping pet parents select the services most suited for their pets.
Clean and sanitize kennels and monitor pets after surgery.
Answer phones, schedule appointments, check clients in/out, handle payments and inquiries
Fill prescriptions, label medications, maintain inventory, and assist with discharge instructions
Good for detail-oriented people who enjoy customer service and administrative work.
Help with restraining pets during wellness exams, administer vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and basic treatments - Good for people interested in learning clinical skills.
Ensure all medical notes and services are entered into the client's record. Prepare prescriptions to take home.
Assist in the operating room (restraining, prepping patients, monitoring recovery, sterilizing instruments, taking medical notes, etc.) – Good for people who enjoy fast-paced environments and want to learn surgical procedures.
Volunteers are needed to provide assistance in the shop in areas such as processing clothing and furniture donations, pricing items, testing electronics, displaying and organizing merchandise and greeting and assisting customers.
