Please read this full section before bringing a Community/Feral Cat. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. If you want an exception, you will be charged full price (see Pet Cat Sterilizations Pricing)
Live Traps
These cats must come in live humane traps – we will not accept stray cats in pet taxis. ONE cat per trap.
Appointments
We highly recommend making an appointment if you are planning to trap. If you do not make an appointment in advance, we accept 1 cat per customer per location with the exception of Saturdays. If you are planning on trapping more than one cat, please call and schedule. Clients without an appointment will be checked in after all clients with appointments are checked in. Walk ins are not guaranteed service.
Saturdays - We no longer accept walk-ins.
We will no longer be able to take walk ins on Saturdays. If you would like to schedule a feral cat, please do so through the scheduler prior to Saturday. If there are no appointments available, it means the schedule is at capacity.*
Montgomery County Community Cat Program
If you are using the Montgomery County Community Cat Program, you must show a photo id at check in with a valid Montgomery County address. Please remember residents of the Cities of Conroe and Willis are not eligible for the Montgomery County Community Cat Program. If you do not have a photo id showing a valid address, you will be charged the full price for the Community/Feral Cat Package. No exceptions will be made. We will not perform any additional services on the Montgomery County Voucher program.
If you are bringing a Community Cat/Feral, please call or email to reserve your spot. If you do not make an appointment, you will have to wait until all scheduled appointments have been checked in. Clients are allowed 1 cat per day without an appointment.
Arrival Times
All ferals must arrive for check in between 7-8am. We will not hold ferals overnight.
Community Cat Package
The Community Cat/Feral Cat Package includes the spay/neuter surgery, a 24 hour NSAIDs injection, rabies vaccination, FVRCP, ear mite treatment, and there are no additional charges for pregnant/in heat/lactating. These cats do not receive a vet exam prior to surgery. Texas Litter Control will ear tip the cat. We cut approximately 1/4″ to 1/2″ of the cat's ear. This signifies to animal control that the cat is sterilized and has received a rabies shot. See photo above for an example of an ear-tipped cat.
The Community Cat Package price is $78.
The rules are very specific and no exceptions are made. If you ask for an exception, you will be charged full price. Please note, the free micro-chips do not come with this package.
TLC charges a 3% surcharge on all credit card transactions. There is no surcharge on Debit cards or cash.
Community Cats are neighborhood cats who may or not be wild/feral. People feed and care for them, but they need to be fixed so that unwanted litters of kittens do not end up in your neighborhood. Removing these cats is a big mistake. These cats keep other cats out of the area. The only way to control the cat population in your neighborhood is through spay/neuter.
If you are a Montgomery, Harris County or City of Humble resident and you cannot afford the cost, contact us via phone or email reggie@texaslittercontrol.org. Additional subsidies may be available. Please note, there are no subsidies for residents for the City of Conroe or City of Willis. Please contact your City Council or Mayor's Office and ask for a community cat program in your jurisdiction.
No other discounts can be applied to this package.
Prices Last Updated 1/11/24.
ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. If you cannot afford our low cost clinic pricing and are on public assistance, please visit our NEED HELP page for more options.
Texas Litter Control’s number one priority is for the safety of the animals at our clinic. Due to the national veterinary shortage, TLC often uses relief veterinarians. These veterinarians are highly qualified; however, some are not as fast as others. We do not always have the necessary capacity to handle the numbers of feral cats we are receiving. Currently weekdays do not tend to pose a problem, however Saturdays have become a major issue.
